John 4:34-35 Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work. 35 “Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!

Jesus found focus and sustenance in doing the will of God…and finishing His work.  The words that he spoke in John 4:35 serve as a directive to anyone who has the desire to do the will of the Father.  He said, “lift up your eyes,” literally, raise your vision.  Too often our vision in the kingdom is nearsighted focused only on our own ideas and desires.  He wants us to lift our eyes…our vision, to see the fields around us.  Ripened harvest waiting for the reapers…people all around us that are there, waiting on the church to come and bring them life through the gospel of Christ.  He has called us to have “harvest eyes.”  We are praying for “harvest eyes” to be raised all over the Church of God in Ohio!

Ephesians 4:11-12 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ,…God Himself placed the evangelist in this group, no one has the right or authority to remove them.  The work of evangelism will always be central to the plan of God.  The telling of the Gospel and the call to live our lives in such a way that we are witnesses of Him, is part of the plan of God to execute His mission on the earth.
